So Many Things to Blog About

I'm so excited to have won the Garden Giveaway that Clyde the Madtatter had on August 24, 2009. Clyde made a video slide show of his beautiful gardens and added a Giveaway if you could identify a plant in the slide show that was around when dinosaurs roamed the earth. I guessed the Sago Palm and won the Giveaway. Clyde tatted the most beautiful, delicate bookmark for me and sent it along with a skein of HDT. He used Yarnplayers HDT Lavender Orchid in Size 100. I love the bookmark Clyde. Thank you so much. Please visit Clyde's blog and watch his garden tour, his garden is so lovely. He also has a slide show of Rocks and Gems and Fossils that he collects, which is amazing. Thank you Clyde!! Hope your surgery went well and you are on the road to recovery!!

I also entered a Giveaway that
IsDihara at Ambitatterous had. She wanted little motifs and edgings to send to Mothermark to use in the cards she makes. Mothermark makes such creative cards to resemble teapots she collects. My little tatted samples were chosen and will be sent off to Mothermark to be used in the future on one of the cards she creates. Just for entering the Giveaway, IsDihara sent me two packets of flowering tea and two balls of peach star thread. I have never heard of this kind of tea and am excited to give it a try. Thank you Isdihara!!

Then
Heather The Tarnished Tatter, asked for a few tatters to test out her tiny shuttles that she made. They are so cute and so tiny. I have small hands, so tatting with them was fun, they fit in my little fingers perfectly. I used size 80 tatting thread and got at least 4 yards on each shuttle. Below is the heart I tatted with Heather's tiny shuttles. Thank you Heather for letting me test the shuttles.

Then I have been wanting to post this picture for sometime now. It is a
pattern by Lenore English. I taught my best friend, Rayanna, to tat in 2006. We get together to tat in the evenings and she came over this fall when my Mom was here and we all tatted and chatted the night away. Rayanna tatted this Awareness Ribbon for my daughter, Katrina. I like how Rayanna added the Angel in the center of the ribbon. Rayanna just started blogging and has been putting her tatting up on her blog. You can visit Rayanna's blog here!

I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been voting to help the"Kiski Marching Band" win Band of the Year. (((WE WON)))) KISKI was named as Band of the Year!! We already knew we were band of the year, you only have to look at Kiski's band competitions and see that they have won all their competitions. So Thank You again from Katrina and I for helping us to achieve that goal. We had almost 50,000 votes.

I don't often say this, but: "WOO HOOO" for Kiski Band!! At first it looked as though N. Allegheny was in the lead. CONGRATS ON BAND OF THE YEAR!!!!

And congrats to you on your winnings! How did you know about Sago Palms? I barely know a rose from a petunia! Clyde's tatting is excellent, and I also hope he recovers soon.

Interesting tea from IsDihara! She has quite a bit of enthusiasm for tatting and tea!

And also Rayanna has come a long way, and it's great that you get together. Hope you both can come to Vicary or the Maple Festival sometime!

Hi Carolyn, I'm usually not this lucky, but you are right, I was on a winning streak. Our whole family is proud to have the Kiski Band named Band of the Year, that was a big win!!

Hi Heather, thanks for the opportunity to test tat the tiny shuttles, they are so cute!!

Hi Kathy, thanks for the support for our Kiski band. Everyone was great in helping with the voting. We had lots of international votes for our band. I know about Sago Palms because we have one. It is a very interesting looking plant!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Jane, I'll tell Katrina you said that. Thank you!!

Hello Pamela, yes, it was great to have all my tatting friends helping us out with the voting. We appreciated it very much.
Rayanna is a good friend and is not addicted to tatting and blogging :)

Hi Sally, Kiski band really did deserve the Band of the Year! They have won 28 times in a row in their class 1st place. They have such dedication.

Thanks Rayanna, that's sweet of you to say!! Happy Thanksgiving!

Ok, first of all, WOOOHOOOOOO for Katrina and the Kiski Band! I'm so happy that they won. That is EXCITING!

Oh, Carol. Lots of wonderful going on here in this post. Congratulations to you, too, for all the great wins and gifts. The bookmark, the teeny shuttles, and Rayanna's ribbon are all gorgeous. And the flowering tea...oooh! I've seen it, but have never tasted it before. Hope it brings you a little cup of bliss.

Speaking of bliss! Thank you for the etymology of "ignorance is bliss." That is exactly what was in my head. I hope you and your family have a delicious and delightful Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

So glad you got the little prize package I sent. Enjoy the tea and the thread.

Kathy Nicklewicz is too funny! Doesn't everyone know how perfectly tea and tatting go together? LOL!

That bookmark in size 100 thread is mind-blowing-ly fine. It is also one of the most beautiful bookmarks I have ever seen. You are lucky, indeed!

Big hugs to Rayanna, I am enjoying reading her blog as much as yours.
One day, I will visit you in PA for a nice chatty tat.

Congrats to Kiski Band!

Carol, you got some lovely goodies! I ♥ the bookmark that Clyde sent you, and the little shuttles from Heather are cute! Somehow I missed that awesome test tatting opportunity. I would've liked to have been a part of that.
That ribbon from Rayanna is so sweet! What a nice gift for your daughter!

Hello Bella, Thank you for all your words. We are all happy that Kiski won band of the year. It was the best way to end her senior year with band going out on top. Hope you had a wonderful holiday also.

Hello Isadihara & Fox, thank you for your well wishes on our band. It meant alot.

Hi TattingChic, I was happy to win the giveaways. The bookmark from clyde in the size 100 is so fine.

Hi Steph, Oh, the thread is even nicer in person. I have never tatted with size 100, so it will be fun giving it a try.

Hi Carol, I came back over to say hello and ended up reading some of your comments, here! I couldn't help noticing your response to Steph right under your response to me. I didn't know you hadn't tatted in size 100 yet! I thought for sure that someone with your years of tatting experience would've tried that years ago. I look forward to hearing about your first try with it and seeing what you create! I love tatting with size 80 and 100! I just got some size 120 and 160 from Georgia this last summer/fall and I look forward to trying that out! I love the look and feel of tatted lace in the tinier threads!
