Tatting Earrings Again - Motifs 13, 14 & 15

I've been working on the 25 Motif Challenge and tatting earrings. I am up to Motif #15. I joined the challenge on March 3rd of this year, so it has only been 3-1/2 months and I've passed the halfway mark already. YEA!! This challenge has motivated me to keep tatting on a regular basis and photograph my tatting and post on my blog what I have achieved. I like that idea, as I have tatted so many things and gave them away without taking pictures of them. I'm sure there are many other tatters that do the same thing.

I have tatted Jane Eborall's Flat Snowflake Earring again. I love this earring pattern. This time I made them for my friend, Rayanna, who just had a birthday. I made them in her favorite color, purple. Earlier this year I taught Rayanna to tat. She was such a fast learner. She has even mastered split rings. Sometimes we get together in the evenings to tat, which is a lot of fun.

I tatted another earring from Jane's site, Flower Earring, these are almost like small bell shaped flowers. I like how they turned out and have the beads hanging down from the center of the flower.

The next earring that I made is a pattern by Nina Libin, Beaded Earring. I have had the pattern printed off for sometime now. I have always wanted to try this earring. There are a few variations to the pattern, just by adding more beads in a few places. I want to make a few more of these and experiment with different colors of thread and beads.

That's all for now. I have missed a few days on the computer and have to catch up on every one's blog and see what beautiful things others are tatting. Thanks for visiting my blog!! Happy Tats!

I haven't been brave enough to try to make earrings yet, but you may have inspired me to try. Yours are beautiful.

Beautiful earrings, Carol! It's nice to see you've taken the shuttle and thread back from William and are putting them to such wonderful use.

I know what you mean about the 25 Motif Challenge encouraging you to take pictures and report your projects. I'm nearing the end of the challenge, and I'm afraid I'm going to become lazy about the photos.

Carol, your tatting is beautiful and yes! You need to record it! All those earrings...you must be stocking up on tatted gifts and using the 25 motif challenge as an excuse. (g) You make such pretty cards to go with them too.

:-) Gina

Very pretty earrings! I absolutely love the bell shaped flower earrings...they look like real flowers, you know the ones... I can't recall the name right now...LOL! Good for you for passing the 1/2 way mark already on the 25 Motif Challenge! Woo Hoo!

All of the earrings are very pretty Carol. I really should make more. I love Jane's patterns. I haven't tatted any of Nina Libin's yet, but I want to.

Thank you Bonnie, Joy, Gina, TattingChic, Yarnplayer, & TattyCat for your compliments on my tatting. It sure does make my day!

Joy, please keep posting your tatting too when you finish the 25 Motif Challenge. Your blog is one of my regular stops with my morning coffee. I enjoy stopping in for a visit. Your tatting is beautiful.

TattingChic, the bell flower, if tatted in white, reminds me of Lily of the Valley, which is one of my favorite little flowers. I have thought of using this pattern and making a spray of Lily of the Valley for a little bud vase. I'd use size 80 thread so it turned out tiny.

Gina, I love to tat earrings for gifts. Infact, I just remembered another friends birthday is in July, so I must get tatting. I think I will use some HDT from Yarnplayer to make these earrings.

How cute! The little lily of the valleys in the bud vase in size 80 thread sounds so delicate and sweet looking! Do you have a picture of it? I'd love to see them!

TattingChic, I didn't make the Lily of the Valley flowers, I just thought about doing it because the tatted flower reminded me of the shape of a Lily of the Valley flower. I may tat it someday.

Carol, your earrings are beautiful! So is the shuttle!

Thanks Diane! And the shuttle is my favorite to tat with and is my most precious shuttle. It is a GR-8 shuttle made by Randy Houtz. I had him inlay the birthstones of my family. I supplied the gems for him. The diamond is for my son, the golden topaz for my daughter, emerald is my birthstone and aquamarine is my husbands birthstone.

Hi Carol, I've missed you. Haven't seen you around on the blog scene, lately. Is everything okay? You're missed. I hope the reason we haven't seen you out and about is that you are having too much fun this summer!
