Catching Up

It sure has been a busy summer. I have not had time to update my blog in such a long time. I have been tatting, but have not had time to update my blog. I wish there was more time in the day, just for tatting and reading tatting blogs. I try to tat and read a few blogs everyday. This morning I took pictures of what I have been tatting over the last month. I forgot to take pictures of a few things before I gave them away :(

I did finally manage to add a picture to the top of my blog title. It is the Reversible Motif by Jane Eborall. I loved tatting this motif. I used Yarnplayer's HDT, Tourmaline with matching threads. This is such a pretty colorway.

This is the front side of the motif.

This is the back side of the motif. I don't know which side I like best.

I wanted to make earrings to match each motif and use them as a pendant/earring set. I am very pleased at how each set turned out.

Then I made another Peacock colored motif (see previous post). Using Jane's "Lotus Flower" pattern again. The last one I made I turned in to a pin for my jean jacket. This time I added a ribbon/cord and it is a lovely pendant with matching earrings. I just love the colors in this motif too.

One more picture to post. Jane's new Multi Beaded Earrings. I love how this is made and there are so many possibilities for the bottom of these earrings. Thanks for all your wonderful patterns Jane. As you can see I love tatting your patterns.

I still have more to show, but it will have to be on another day. I need to get out to the garden and pick peppers, basil, and dill to freeze. It sure is hot today, it's about time though. Our summer has been rather cool, which is ok too, but we need some hot days and nights to help our tomatoes ripen.

Thanks for visiting my blog today. I enjoy reading all the comments everyone leaves.

Have a great day!!

Hi Carol!

WOW! Your update was a really nice suprise today! And yes, the weather is now HOT! We had to turn the A/C on for the first time all summer! I really didn't mind
having a cool summer.

Your new blog heading is OUTSTANDING! You may not have been posting but you've sure been busy tatting! BEAUTIFUL work on ALL the items! You certainly have mastered beading techniques. I'd love to give that Reversible pattern a try, but it looks a little intimidating to me! Jane's instructions seem very clear, however. She's so talented. Are the earrings your own patterns? Also lovely!

I just talked to your Mom yesterday at Vicary. and I discussed how I missed your posting, but I had seen your comments on other blogs. I know you're busy all summer! (I hope to do my next post about the Vicary mansion - we were in the beautiful parlor for the first time.)

I'm amazed at ALL your talents - including gardening. Can't imagine ever 'canning' and 'freezing' things. Of course, first one has to GROW them!

Hi Carolyn, Nice to see you and thanks for stopping by. I had a lot to post this time.

Hi Kathy, Thank you for your lovely comments. I do like adding beads with my tatting and Jane's patterns are so clear and easy to understand. Please give the pattern a try. My Mom told me about her day at the Vicary House. Wish I could have made it. Seems like I always have something going on when you have these historical days. Maybe next time.

Hi TattingChic, Thank you!! It means a lot to me when people say such nice things on my posts. I agree, Marilee's Tourmaline is such a lovely color.

The earrings are my designs. Nothing very hard, I just started tatting and joining to the earring post. I didn't even write it down as I went, maybe I should have. LOL!!

Hi Quayceetatter, I'm glad you like the banner. It took me awhile to figure out how to do it, and I'm pleased with how it turned out too. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Jane, I can give you a rough drawing of what I did, I'll try to draw it up. I don't have a program to do the diagram. I agree Yarnplayer's HDT Tourmaline is such a pretty colorway.

Hi Judy, Thanks for your lovely comments. I just sent you an e-mail.

Hi Diane, Thank you, it means a lot.

Dear Carol,

Aah, what a busy summer. I loved the photos of the zoo. The kids look great! And although I've seen some impressive shark tanks, I've never looked up and seen one swimming amongst the clouds. How surreal! And the polar bear is adorable. You know the polar bear at the Central Park zoo who swims constantly in a loop all day long? He is majestic, but so sad. I saw him 8 years ago, and he was swimming in loops. I saw him again this past summer, and he was STILL swimming in loops.

Your tatting is still incredible as ever. You have such a knack for color combinations. And the close up of the beads in your header is fantastic. They look satiny! You have created a treasure trove of tatted delights, and they are all gorgeous.

I wanted to thank you for your sweet words and hugs earlier this summer. I'm sorry it's taken me a while to thank you, but I certainly did not forget. Your kindness brought me solace and strength and helped me heal. I am so very grateful for your friendship.

xoxo
bella

Hello Sherry, I don't mean to be quiet, it is just hard to find the time to update my blog. I am home sick today, so I hope to upload a new post. Thank you for your kind comments about my tatting.

(((BELLA))) Thank you for stopping by. I have missed you! I hope you are settled in your new home and that your children are settled in their new home and school.

I agree about the polar bears, they do just go round and round.

I'm happy to see you drawing again. You are so talented and your pictures always have such meaning to them. Thank you for stopping by. Take Care!
