New Tatting Books

Right before Christmas I treated myself to two new Tatting books. The first one is by Heather at The Tarnished Tatter blog, "Motifs A Many" There are 35 motifs in her book. They are quick and easy to tat up. I also bought one of Heather's tatting shuttles that she made. It is so cute and fits nice in my hand. I tatted most of the motifs with Heather's own HDT. Here are some of the motif's I tatted. I think my favorite one in this bunch orange and cream colored one on the bottom row in the middle and also the little one done in white thread. I still have lots more to tat out of this book.

Also for Christmas I ordered myself a copy of
Marilee's (Yarnplayer) new book "Boutique Tatting". I can't wait to try out some of the patterns in this book. I have quite a few of Marilee's HDT's and my latest one is the Pansy color. I got some pretty beads to use with this thread. Maybe this will be my next project.

I haven't had time to tat in the last few days, I've been too busy. Maybe tonight I will try to tat. I know I won't be able to tat Thursday, Friday or Saturday. I have something going on each of those nights.

Happy Tatting everyone!

Isn't it fun to have a new book, even if all we do is look at it and dream.

Heather's designs are very pretty and i like the orange and cream one the best too, it's so twirly!

Very pretty little motifs! I don't have Heather's book... yet! I'd also like to try some of her HDT. There are so many things I want to do!

You sound like you have a full schedule with having something on Thurday, Friday and Saturday.

Have a great weekend.

Thank you Pamela, TattyCat, Diane and TattingChic for visiting and your lovely comments. Heather's designs are fun and quick to tat. I did start on Marilee's book, but haven't had time to finish the earrings I was working on. Maybe tonight.

TattingChic, I did get both of your comments, after I got the second comment, I went back and did find your origianl comment along with these others that needed posted. Good thing you sent the second comment or I would have lost these comments in my ever growing inbox.

These are just lovely. I don't think I can knit, and my grandmother tried to teach me how to crochet but I never caught on, and well, sewing...I failed bobbins. But I have a fascination of the intricacies of this craft. I would love to paint these designs, especially that star at the far right hand corner at the bottom.

This craft is amazing.

Hi Karen, Thank you for visiting my blog. That would be so cool to see a painting of the tatted star. If you would like to have the tatted motif, maybe we can do an exchange, the tatted star motif, or whatever you would like tatted for a small painted journaling page. Would you be interested? I visited your blog and your paintings are beautiful.
