Mary Had a Little Lamb & I've been given an Award, The Renee Award

HAPPY EASTER!!!!! I wish everyone a very joyous day with loved ones!!

Mary Had a Little Lamb..... Lamb.... Lamb.... Lamb. She has 4 so far. I loved making this little lamb. I have wanted to make this lamb for sometime now. Ever since Jane Eborall had her Tat It And See (TIAS) of the button girl. There is a new TIAS going on right now if, so if you want to give it a try, click here. The pattern is given in parts and you don't know what you are making till the end. It's a lot of fun!

This little button lamb is so cute. The pattern is by Martha Ess and can be found here on Jane Eborall's Site. Martha just published a new tatting book, "Tea is for Tatting". The Teapots are fantastic. I have to get this book.

Wow.... I can't believe that I have been given this awesome award by TattingChic and also by Pamela at Tats a Kool Challenge, The Renee Award, it was created by Bella Sinclair.

Here's what Bella has to say about why she created this award:
"This one is meaningful to me in three profound ways. Firstly, it was created in honor of Renee, one human being who has made such a difference in the lives of many just by being. Her honestly, wit, intelligence, and grit are a tremendous source of inspiration. She can elicit raucous laughter and guffaws in her banter, and then turn right around and offer the most heartfelt, gentle words of wisdom and emotional support. She is a spreader of love, simple and true. And her love is infectious.
Secondly, this award was created in collaboration with one of my best friends, Ces. She is, in Renee's own words, truly original. She is an incredible artist, both in pen and ink and paint. She is fiery passion with a gentle hand. She is laughter, fun, joy, intellectual stimulation, a sister. The concept and design of the award belong to Ces.
Thirdly, this is a brand new award, and I have the pleasure and honor of spreading the seed, watching it grow. I hope it finds its way to those who are like Renee: the acorn, a small package becoming a tall and sturdy oak giving more acorns, becoming tall and sturdy oaks, giving acorns…"

I really like that these awards didn't have any "rules".
You can pass it on or not. You can pass it on to as many or
few as you want. It's very cool!

Thank you so much for the very touching award. I am very honored to receive an award that was created with love!

Oh...my...goodness. I am about to keel over. Mary and her little lambies are cute as BUTTONS! So incredibly sweet. I just love your bead accents. :D

And congratulations TWICE for the award! Hooray! You are a wonderful acorn.

p.s., I asked another bloggy buddy about colored pencil work. She very lightly outlines in regular pencil first and then blocks out her colors. I've also read that layering colors makes for a richer image. Experiment away!

Hi Carol glad you like the award. I have to confess that when I saw who TattingChic had given the award to I didn't recognise the name of your blog and thought that it must be different Carol. I wanted to give it to all the ones that TattingChic had as they are all so deserving of the award.
isn't this fun.

Love the little scene you made. I bet you painted the background too. Lovely. Happy Easter to you my tatting friend.

Hi Bella, Aren't those little lambs adorable? I had fun making them. Thank you for asking your friend about adding color to a pencil drawing. I have drawn quite a few pictures lately and I'd like to add just a bit of color. I post some pictures soon. Thank you for all your inspiration!!

Hi Pamela, thank you again for the award!! I did change the name of my blog. From Carol's Tatting Blog to Carol's Little Treasures. Many years ago I had business cards made up with that name and handed them out when I sold my tatting. I just recently found a few of these cards and decided to go with that name again.

Hi Renee, thank you for visiting my blog. LOL! That was funny, you were here before you were here.

Hi TattingChic, Thank you again for the award. As you can see, I received it from Pamela also!

Hi Laura, thanks for coming by and adding me to your lists. I am going to order the Tea is for Tatting! Teapots would be fun to collect, I have seen so many pretty ones in antique stores.

Love the art work. Have you tried the aquelle pencils? I use those and a #7 brush (or a q-tip in a pinch) to soften areas...I found a huge set 50% off at Hobby Lobby last year, and snapped them up! There are some good books out on using colored pencils in one's art.
What a great idea. I'd thought of doing a background for the Festival Elephant when I get 'aroundtouit' Something that wouuldn't compete with the tatting..
just lovely work and I love the lambs...
hugs, Bev

Hi Judy & TattyCat, Thanks for stopping by and I agree, the lambs are so cute and went perfectly with Jane's button girl.

Hi Carolyn, Thank you and I appreciate your comments!

Hi Bev, I have a confession to make. The artwork behind Mary is not mine, I used a sheet of scrapbook paper behind Mary. I wish I could paint like that. I am experimenting with drawing though. Can you tell me more about the books about using colored pencils with artwork, do you have the titles and what are aquelle pencils. Thank you for your input.

Hi Carol, I ran back over to say:
Thank you so much for the sweet comment you just left on my blog! YOU are the sweet lady! I really appreciate your kind words. They mean a lot to me. I hope your elbow gets better soon. That sounds like a horribly painful thing to go through. That's a great idea to give it a rest! Maybe you need to tell your doctor??? Yes???

Hi Carol, Just spotted the lamb, a bit late! Just before Easter I was thinking about making some Easter Cards and was looking for rabbits or eggs, but a lamb would have been ideal and it was on Jane's site!!!!! thank you
