Tatted Horse

It has been a long time since I have added anything new. I have been having trouble with tendinitis in my elbow and ended up needing surgery because the tendons ripped off from the elbow and the tendons had to be re-attached. I was off work for three months and not aloud to tat either. That was so hard, being off work for all that time and not being able to tat. I was in a cast and sling for 2 months and couldn't use it for anything. So I am slowly getting back into tatting.

I tatted this horse from Inga Madsen's "Tatted Animals" book. I think the animal patterns in this book are so realistic. I used scrapbook paper for the background and bought some scrapbook 3d stickers to accent the picture. I think it turned out so cute. It is for my niece, Sarah, for her 10th birthday. She loves horses.

Beautiful! I'm glad you have your shuttles back in operation. That must have been very difficult to bear--painful, too.

Carol, that is such great. My husband mom used to tat all the time. She tried to teach me and I am so sorry I didn't spend more time and learn. I miss her. You do wonderful work. She would have loved meeting you. connie from Texas

Sounds very painful and a difficult thing to go through. I pray you continue to improve every day!
I appreciate and admire tatting so much! My grandmother did beautiful work and tried to interest me in it when I was a teen, but sadly I didn't appreciate things like I do now. Not very many do it these days-so happy you are continuing this lovely art!
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit the cabin! Blessings-

Hi Carol,
Thanks for the comments on my Sunbonnet Sue and the butterflies. The book says they are designs by Darlene Polachic from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Inside the cover it says she is a frequent contributor to craft and needlework publications. Maybe that's where you have seen some of these!

Nicely done! It reminds me of the Christmas Camel that someone tatted a long time ago.
