Celtic Tatted Cross and My Prize has Arrived

I haven't been able to do much tatting lately,  I am working 2 part time jobs now.   I'll have more time in the summer to tat as one of my jobs is at an elementary school, so when school is out I'll just be working part time at the Library.

I did mange to tat this Celtic Cross by Ruth Perry.  I like how the chains cross each other and the celtic center.  I used one of my favorite Lizbeth threads, Wildflower #109 and the solid match, Dusty Rose #621.  I also did this cross in two shades of green awhile ago.

Also when I have a few free moments, I like to blog surf.  I'll either do a google search on tatting and just go to different links or at the top of the blogs you can hit the button (Next Blog).  You never know what blog you will end up at, but I love to get lost while surfing blogs.  I have found some interesting blogs this way.  Funny, I did some surfing just now and came across a tatter's blog I have never seen before and she has the same celtic cross on her blog.  The Space Between, she tatted her cross in a magenta and dusty rose, very nice!!

Aileen at Aileen's Wicked Tats, had a Birthday giveawy and I was a lucky winner in her giveaway.  I was so surprised that I won.  Aileen sent so many goodies to use for tatting.  Look at those colorful buttons.  I see some tatted brooches from them and one can always use more beads. :)  I also look forward to trying out the tatted rings.  I see on Aileen's blog she has been tatting with these rings and making scissor fobs and pendants.  Great idea!!  Thank you so much Aileen for your generous gift!

I don't know if you all have been to Lady Picot's blog, but she tatted a manger scene that I think is fantastic!  My favorite parts of this are the Angel in the sky and the Star of Bethlehem... the sheep are cute too.  She also tatted a Gorgeous doily in black, red and gold.  She has lots of eye candy on her site.

Well I'm off to work.  Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Happy Tats!!

Hi Sally, LOL, I have been keeping an eye on the blogs too and seeing what Lizbeth thread looks good. That is how I decide to buy the colors that I have. Seeing the colors on the ball just doesn't do it justice until you see a piece tatting in the colors.

Hi Typs Tatting, Thank you for your comments. I didn't realize I was missed until a few of you told me. I'll try not to go so long between blog posts.

Hi TattingChic, Thank you, I appreciate your comments.

Hi Carla, Nice to see you hear and your lovely comments. I enjoy your blog also!!

Thanks for sharing the celtic crosses. I like the pink colors and it is interesting how we use these varigated ones. I am like you, I surf the net looking for inspriation. Usually go to a few blogs and work off their blog friends. I am just about finished with both sides of a pocketbook using Lizbeth threads for the embroidery. I believe they will stand up to the wear and tear of everyday use. Looking forward to more of your projects! Linda

Beautiful! Changing the colors makes such a big difference. The pink ones looks very dainty and feminine, whereas the green one looks quite regal and stately. Both equally gorgeous.

Yay to the prize! Looks like a lot of fun items in there to play with. Have an excellent weekend!

Your tatting is beautiful! My maternal grandmother tatted and I always loved getting something tatted from her. I had her tat crosses for the girls in my confirmation class when I was a teen. Heading over to Lady Picot's blog. I'm glad I came across your blog!

Hi Geraldine, I see you made the cross afterall. It is such a pretty design. I'm sure your sister and friends will love to receive the tatted cross.

Hello Bella, I agree, how the different colors gives the tatted piece a totally different look.

Hi Carmen, glad you found me and glad to have brought back some fond memories of your Grandmother tatting.

I don't know too much about Tatts. I happened to be doing the same thing that you mentioned, surfing other blogs. You're absolutely right about finding some interesting blogs on here.

There are so many gifted people on this site. I'm basically networking, to find and meet other people with creative talent.

I recently started my own art business after my car accident 11/03/08. It was something to do in order to take my mind off of the pain that I was in.

The thing I like the most about the creative process is that I find myself getting lost in it. The outcome is never the same which makes it that much more fascinating to me.

I'd love for you to come and check out my blog and to learn more about what you do. You're work is absolutely amazing. Good luck to you and have a wonderful day.

Hello Lisa, thank you for your compliments on my tatting and for stopping by for a visit.

Hi Umintsuru, It took me quite a few times trying to get the celtic knot to work, but I finally figured it out. It is a challenging piece.
